# Very tiny README for Bitflu BitTorrent client Bitflu is a free BitTorrent client. The client was written in Perl and is designed to run as a daemon (7x24h , like mlnet) on Linux, *BSD and maybe even OSX. * Multiple downloads * Designed to run as a daemon/No GUI: You can connect to the client using the telnet or HTTP interface * Security: The client can chroot itself and drop privileges * Bandwith shaping (currently only upload) * Crash-Proof design: Crashes or a full filesystem will never corrupt your downloads again :-) * Non-Threading/(almost)Non-Forking design: All connections are handled in non-blocking state using a dynamic select loop INSTALLATION Before installing bitflu install p5-Digest-SHA1 and p5-URI modules via CPAN. perl -MCPAN -e shell install p5-Digest-SHA1 install p5-URI 1. Install package bitflu; 2. Check /usr/share/bitflue/.bitflu.config configuration file; 3. Type as root: bitflu 5.Default installation it is chrooted, telnet connections acceped on localhost:4001 and HTTP-connection also localhost at port 4081. If your DNS server changed - quit of bitflu and atart it again; 6. Place your .torrent files to /usr/share/bitflue/workdir/autoload They will load automatically to bitflu. 7. All finished downloads will be located in /usr/share/bitflu/workdir/committed 8. To start it as daemon - use screen utility. screen bitflu 9. That's all!
